Lanikuhonua Cultural programs perpetuate and preserve the culture of Hawaii through education, and are funded by the James and Abigail Campbell Foundation and members of the Campbell family.

Lanikuhonua Cultural Institute sponsors Hawaiian studies classes for the children residing in the Leeward and Waianae Coastal area who are in grades 1 through 6. Activities in the program include the following:

  • Hawaiian music, its history, instruments and lyrics
  • Knowledge of our island plants and their medicinal value
  • Study of the land and ocean
  • Cultural observation and demonstration of respect for self and others
